The course provides an introduction to fuzzy logic and fuzzy sets. Covered are theoretical foundations and selected applications.

• Introduction to fuzzy logic and fuzzy sets. History and motivations.
• Structures of truth degrees, truth functions of logical connectives.
• Fuzzy sets and fuzzy relations, basic operations.
• Cuts, extenson principle, fuzzy numbers.
• Compositional rule of inference, rule-based fuzzy systems.
• Fuzzy controllers, principles, fuzzification, defuzzification.
• Selected applications of fuzzy logic and fuzzy sets.
