KGI/VYPOK Advanced Computational Methods in Cartography

The course is aimed at acquiring knowledge of advanced methods in cartography, focusing mathematics and computation. Students will learn principles of cartographic generalization, algorithms, map projections etc. Basic principles of morphometry on maps, measurements on maps, specifics of methods of cartographic visualization and graphic design will be introduced. Practical exercises include cartometric tasks and individual practical tasks.
