KGG/QCLIC Geography of Climate Change

Students will broaden their knowledge about climate change, explore the impacts of climate change in country of their origin and they will adopt to perceive the problem from the geographical perspective.
In the first part, the physical science basis of climate change is introduced, followed by the adaptation and mitigation strategies proposed by the reports of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. Political and public response as well as scientific critique will be discussed. In the final part of the course, regional impacts of climate change will be discussed in the context of environmental, social and economic consequences.
