P1606 Ecology and Environmental Protection – Ecology
Field of study guarantor: Prof. MVDr. Emil Tkadlec, CSc.
Guarantor of study: Department of Ecology and Environmental Sciences
Field of study:
The study provides detailed knowledge of ecological theory in several important topics, such as adaptive responses to variation in the environment, demography and population growth, population interactions, decomposition and nutrient cycles in aquatic and soil ecosystems, community ecology and conservation issues in some protected species, the ecology of agro-ecosystems and problems of soil and landscape restoration. Methodological approaches include the experimental testing of hypotheses, the statistical and dynamic modelling of empirical and simulation data and observational studies to measure important ecological parameters in populations, communities and ecosystems.
