The Department of Development Studies offers a PhD programme in the International Development Studies since 2010. The duration of the programme is 4 years. The programme is interdisciplinary in its nature and is focused on current global challenges and threats, especially in developing countries.

Research of the Department is done in the fields of socio-economic development and environmental studies. Our PhD students are motivated by a wide range of scholarships to do their fieldworks in foreign countries all over the world.

The PhD programme aims at preparing highly qualified staff for scientific and expert work with adequate language skills. Upon successful completion of the programme students will acquire profound knowledge in development related issues as well as in research methodology.
